The four ways services charge

Compare services on the same model first, then on price.

Per video

You pay for each finished video. Cheapest when your volume goes up and down, and dearest per video when you send a lot every month.

Monthly subscription

A fixed number of videos or credits a month. Entry plans across the 11 subscriptions in our survey run from $495 to $5,000 a month (median $1,199). Unused credits are often lost, so count your real monthly output first.

An editor’s time

You buy hours a day of one editor. Good for steady, mixed work; worth less if a two-hour block cannot finish a long video.

Freelance marketplace

The lowest hourly rates and the most variation. You choose, brief and manage the editor yourself, and cover holidays and sick days.

When a competitor is the better buy

We are not the right choice for everyone. Pick someone else if:

  • You want unlimited revisions

We include three revision rounds per video. Tasty Edits, Clipmasters, DesignCloud and Flocksy all say unlimited.

  • You want scripts, thumbnails or channel strategy

We edit. Video Editing Company’s plans include scripts, thumbnails and project management, and Tasty Edits sells channel management.

  • You want an editor in US working hours

Our editors work from Mumbai, so most feedback is answered overnight. Vidpros and Vidchops are US companies.

  • You need one simple video, as cheaply as possible

A newer Upwork freelancer at $6–$25 an hour can cost less than any service here, as long as you have time to brief, check and chase the work.

  • You want design and video under one plan

We only edit photos and video. Flocksy’s subscription covers design and motion work as well.

Where Pinnacle Edits fits

We suit businesses and creators who want to pay per video, without a subscription. Short-form videos start at $20, YouTube editing is $15–$20 an hour and wedding films start at $150. Every video includes three revision rounds, the same editor stays on your account, and we deliver white-label under NDA.

Send a brief and one video you like, and we reply with a written quote within 24 hours, before any work starts.

Choosing a service

Video editing service questions

What is the best video editing service?

It depends on what you send. For one video at a time, a per-video service such as Pinnacle Edits (short-form from $20) or Tasty Edits (YouTube from $327) costs least. For four or more long videos a month, a subscription such as Vidchops ($495 a month for 4) is cheaper per video. For daily mixed work, an editor’s time from Vidpros ($1,000 a month for 2 hours a workday) suits better.

How much do video editing services cost?

Across the 11 editing subscriptions we surveyed, entry plans cost $495 to $5,000 a month, with a median of $1,199. Per video, short-form editing starts around $20 to $94 and YouTube long-form around $168 to $327. Upwork says its video editors typically cost $6 to $25 an hour.

Is a video editing subscription worth it?

Only if you use it every month. Vidchops at $495 for 4 long-form videos works out at about $124 a video, well below most per-video prices. If you send two videos one month and none the next, paying per video usually costs less.

Is it cheaper to hire a freelance video editor?

Often, per hour. Upwork says its video editors typically charge $6 to $25 an hour. A service costs more per hour, but you get a price before work starts, cover for holidays and a team when volume rises.

How did you choose and price these services?

They are human video editing services with prices published on their own websites, taken from our Video Editing Rates Survey 2026. Each price was re-read on the provider’s own pricing page on 7 November 2026, apart from Upwork, which was checked on 16 October 2026. We use list prices, not promotions, and the lowest published figure where pages disagree.

Is Pinnacle Edits independent?

No. Pinnacle Edits is one of the services in this comparison and publishes the page. That is why every competitor price links to its source, and why we list the cases where a competitor is the better buy.
