Third-party software in the Pinnacle Edits image converter https://pinnacleedits.com/image-converter (and its HEIC to JPG, WebP to JPG, PNG to JPG, JPG to PNG and JPG to WebP pages, in every language) The converter runs entirely in your browser. Two pieces of third-party software are downloaded to your browser to make it work. 1. HEIC decoding: libheif and libde265 -------------------------------------- Used only when you choose a HEIC/HEIF file and your browser cannot decode it by itself. Downloaded at that moment, not before. libheif 1.23.5 Copyright (c) Dirk Farin, struktur AG and contributors GNU Lesser General Public License, version 3 Source: https://github.com/strukturag/libheif/tree/v1.23.5 libde265 1.0.15 Copyright (c) Dirk Farin, struktur AG and contributors (HEVC decoder, linked into the libheif build) GNU Lesser General Public License, version 3 Source: https://github.com/strukturag/libde265/tree/v1.0.15 Both are used as compiled to WebAssembly by the libheif-js project, version 1.23.5 (also LGPL-3.0), which builds them with libheif's own build-emscripten.sh, without modification: libheif-js 1.23.5 https://www.npmjs.com/package/libheif-js/v/1.23.5 https://github.com/catdad-experiments/libheif-js Build: https://github.com/catdad-experiments/libheif-emscripten/releases/tag/v1.23.5 Pinnacle Edits has not modified this library. The two files your browser downloads (the JavaScript loader, assets/libheif-.js, and the WebAssembly binary, assets/libheif-.wasm) are byte-for-byte copies of libheif-wasm/libheif.js and libheif-wasm/libheif.wasm from the libheif-js 1.23.5 package. They are separate files, not combined with the site's own code, so you can replace them with a version you have built or modified yourself, for example with a browser extension or a local proxy that serves your build at the same addresses. The full licence texts (GNU LGPL version 3, and the GNU GPL version 3 that it incorporates) are in: https://pinnacleedits.com/licenses/libheif-LICENSE.txt If you would like a copy of the corresponding source code on request rather than from the links above, write to Pinnacle Edits through https://pinnacleedits.com/contact-us and we will provide it. 2. ZIP files: fflate -------------------- Used when you click "Download all as ZIP". fflate 0.8.3 Copyright (c) 2026 Arjun Barrett MIT License https://github.com/101arrowz/fflate The MIT licence text is in: https://pinnacleedits.com/licenses/fflate-LICENSE.txt
